Who doesnt' know the charming shrimpfisherman, as he is depicted many times by painters, sculptors, photographers and film makers? The shrimpfisherman, highly seated on his sturdy draft horse, are admired by everyone whilst they plough trough the waves with a lot of effort. On december 4th 2013 Unesco added shrimfishing on horseback in Oostduinkerke to the UNESCO representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
